The Council strives to work closely with the Theravāda Buddhist community.

The Theravāda Buddhist Council of Malaysia (TBCM) was registered on 9th May 2012 with the objective of unifying Theravāda Buddhist organizations and followers in Malaysia. The Council hopes to represent and safeguard the interests of the Theravāda Buddhist community in Malaysia and will work with the other national Buddhist organizations to safeguard the interests of Malaysian Buddhists.

With the guidance of our Monastic Advisers, the Council shall provide leadership and direction to its member organisations as well as doctrinal interpretation and views to clarify issues affecting the Theravāda Buddhist community. It shall also work closely with other Buddhist organisations in the country for the overall good of Malaysian Buddhists.
