Announcing New TBCM MAP: Venerable Dr. Dhammapala Mahāthero

With great honour, we welcome Venerable Dr. Dhammapala Mahāthero as TBCM’s newest member of the Monastic Advisory Panel.

Bhante Dhammapala was born in Kuching. He was ordained as Upasampada Bhikkhu in 1994. He spent 15 years studying Buddhist Philosophy, Pali and Sanskrit literatures in Sri Lanka and Hong Kong. In 2009, he obtained his Doctorate of Philosophy in Buddhist Studies under the supervision of Professor Venerable KL Dhammajoti, in The University of Hong Kong.

He travelled frequently conducting meditation retreats, dhamma talks and workshops in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China. Bhante returned to Malaysia in December 2013 and is currently the Abbot of Brahmavihara Monastery & Retreat Centre in Melaka, Bodhivana Monastery in Sg. Pelek, and The Centre of Mindfulness in Hong Kong.
